Cable boxes listening to you

September 12th, 2006

Digital Cable boxes have little holes in them under the channel selector buttons that is a microphone that listens to key words for market research or for intelligence organizations to listen to you.

Check your cable box, and if you find a microphone, complain to your cable company and request a replacement without a microphone installed. Most cable boxes have a front panel that can open up without much difficulty, but be careful, tampering with the cable box is likely a violation of your rental agreement with the cable company, so keep that in mind. This incredible invasion of privacy should not be tolerated. (more…)

Critics of the policies of George W. Bush are often greeted with this response: “Who are you to denounce the president? Don’t you think he’s privy to more information than you are? Don’t you think he has all kinds of experts giving him the full picture, which you will never know?” (more…)

It’s true. It’s weird. It’s nuts. The Department of Homeland Security, after a five-year hunt for Osama, has finally brought charges against … Greg Palast. I kid you not. Send your cakes with files to the Air America wing at Guantanamo.

9/11 Protest Sign

Charles Lowry was sitting in a bus opposite the World Trade Centre when the first plane hit five years ago, he remembers.

For reasons he does not understand to this day, he got off the bus and headed towards the plaza.

“It was astonishing how quickly the street filled up with debris, burning paper fluttering down,” he says. (more…)

Claims Washington orchestrated it to get concessions from Damascus

JERUSALEM – The attack today against the United States embassy in Damascus was orchestrated by American intelligence to embarrass the Syrian regime and extract political concessions, a senior member of Syrian President Bashar Assad’s Baath Party claimed to WND.

Imagine my shock. On MSNBC today it was revealed that the recently built U.S. embassy in Damascus was not up to the international building code standards set after the embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya. Why wouldn’t the U.S. invest in the highest building code standards for their embassy? Perhaps they expected or intended it to be bombed, and furthermore, perhaps they wanted there to be as much damage as possible if it were bombed. (more…)

Five years after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, conspiracy theories abound about what caused Flight 93 to crash.

Many people still believe it was shot down. Others say the plane never crashed at all.

Team 4’s Paul Van Osdol has been looking into some of these theories. (more…)

I’ve read a lot of commentary about the number of plotters it would have required to carry out an “Inside Job,” black operation on September 11, 2001. One lively critic of the Truth Movement, Jan Burton, emailed me that 10,000 men would be needed. And all of them would have to keep their mouths shut forever.

I think 50 top specialists might carry out an operation like 9-11 successfully. Here’s how it might be done. (more…)

WASHINGTON - President Bush is invoking the memory of the Sept. 11 victims killed five years ago to argue for a continued military campaign in Iraq before a skeptical American public, drawing protests from Democrats who say he has politicized a national day of mourning. (more…)

Thankfully, the “docudrama,” the Path to 9/11, thought to be a documentary by some people—likely to the glee of neocons, especially former Marxist David Horowitz—has come and gone, or at least half of it has. Now we are roiling in the political aftermath. (more…)

It was Steven Jones’s résumé as much as his September 11 research that rapidly turned the Brigham Young University physics professor into one of the most prominent 9/11 conspiracy theorists. But with the university’s decision last week to place him on paid leave and review his work, Jones may trade academic standing for another vaunted status, the movement’s first martyr. (more…)
