Filmmakers making films of a military nature frequently are assisted by the U.S. military, which can save producers large amounts of cash, but only before they sumbit their scripts to a special office within the pentagon, whose job it is to judge whether or not the film’s portrayal of the military is positive or negative. This office routinely asked filmakers to alter their scripts in order to recieve their help.

NEW YORK A federal judge ruled today that graphic pictures of detainee abuse at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison must be released over government claims that they could damage America’s image. Last year a Republican senator conceded that they contained scenes of “rape and murder” and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said they included acts that were “blatantly sadistic.”

U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein ordered the release of certain pictures in a 50-page decision that said terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan have proven they “do not need pretexts for their barbarism.”

The ACLU has sought the release of 87 photographs and four videotapes taken at the prison as part of an October 2003 lawsuit demanding information on the treatment of detainees in U.S. custody and the transfer of prisoners to countries known to use torture. (more…)

At large, the American people are still unaware of the issuance of the Real ID card forthcoming in May of 2008. This new national/international ID card, and its interactivity with national/international databases, can access our medical, financial, driving, Social Security, license(s), firearms registrations, and political status inside its high tech/little nano brain. In essence, it holds our private lives on a swipe-able card that is then privy to any organization, retailer, or person requesting our identification or our money. In other words, our life histories accessible upon command from one 2X3 inch card. (more…)

OAXACA, Mexico — Federal forces stormed Oaxaca and pushed protesters and striking teachers out of the city center they had occupied for five months, leaving the colonial city resembling a battleground, with riot police and burned vehicles lining the streets.

Police controlled the main square but leftist supporters roamed the streets with sticks and gasoline bombs. Protesters determined to keep up their fight to oust Oaxaca state Gov. Ulises Ruiz announced plans for new marches Monday. Graffiti-smeared storefronts, cafes and hotels were shuttered in what was once a favorite of tourists. (more…)

The US defence department has set up a new unit to better promote its message across 24-hour rolling news outlets, and particularly on the internet.

The Pentagon said the move would boost its ability to counter “inaccurate” news stories and exploit new media.

Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said earlier this year the US was losing the propaganda war to its enemies.

On Monday, Vice-President Dick Cheney said insurgents had increased attacks in Iraq to sway the US mid-term polls. (more…)

ASHEVILLE — On Tuesday, members of the Earth Religions, such as Wicca, celebrate the most sacred day of the year.

Known as Samhain (pronounced SOW-in), the day is the final of three Pagan harvest celebrations and a day to commemorate ancestors and others who have died.

“This is the big one for us,” said Byron Ballard, a high priestess and a founder of the Coalition of Earth Religions for Education and Support. “This is the beginning of the Celtic winter and the celebration of our new year.” (more…)

North Korea reaffirmed a pledge it made last year to scrap its nuclear weapons in return for concessions during talks here Tuesday, US negotiator Christopher Hill said.

Speaking after a meeting with his North Korean and Chinese counterparts to six-party talks, Hill said Pyongyang had promised to abide by the pledge made at the forum in September 2005. (more…)

This is always a difficult time for Christians, especially those with children. It has been suggested that for a Christian to be asked to celebrate Halloween is like asking a Holocaust survivor to celebrate Hitler’s birthday!

It is also a dangerous time for some, since many of the seemingly “harmless” involvements associated with Halloween can also be “entries” for the occult, and can prove very tragic for the unwary. (more…)

Former intelligence officer Robert David Steele recently appeared on the Alex Jones show to make the provocative claim that Google is currently cooperating with secret elements in the US government, including the CIA.

Steele, who now runs OSS.net and is a proponent of open source intelligence, said that “Google has made a very important strategic mistake in dealing with the secret elements of the U.S. government—that is a huge mistake and I’m hoping they’ll work their way out of it and basically cut that relationship off.” In his view, Google’s attempt earlier this year to avoid turning over information to the Department of Justice was little more than a hypocritical charade. Indiana University graduate student Christopher Soghoian pointed out a flaw in airline security by posting a fake boarding pass generator online, and was rewarded with a visit from FBI agents with a search warrant.

The FBI raided his residence on Saturday, only days after the student posted a PHP script enabling anyone to print a boarding pass for Northwest Airlines.

It’s unlikely that a fake pass would enable someone to board a flight they hadn’t paid for, but it would suffice to get one into the “secure” area of an airport. Soghoian’s example passes would fail at the gate when read electronically. Still, they would likely not be challenged until that point. (more…)

Speakers at CU say government deceiving citizens

The idea was to turn the concept of a conspiracy theory on its head.

A panel of scientists and scholars, gathered in a classroom Sunday afternoon at the University of Colorado at Boulder, suggested to several hundred vocal supporters that the true conspiratorial types when it comes to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, are the federal government and the mainstream media.

“They pounded a script into our heads that we now know is backed by zero evidence,” said Kevin Barrett, a professor of Islamic studies at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Barrett was one of a trio of speakers who came to CU to lay out their case that the World Trade Center towers didn’t collapse as a result of jet fuel melting and softening of the buildings’ steel structure, but rather from a deliberate demolition effort perpetrated by the United States government to justify its invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq and assert its power around the world. The infiltration of Iraqi police by militias may delay the United States handover “for decades,” American soldiers training the Iraqi police tell the Washington Post.

“The top U.S. military commander in Iraq, Gen. George W. Casey Jr., predicted last week that Iraqi security forces would be able to take control of the country in 12 to 18 months,” Amit R. Paley writes for the Post.

“But several days spent with American units training the Iraqi police illustrated why those soldiers on the ground believe it may take decades longer than Casey’s assessment,” the article continues.

Capt. Alexander Shaw, head of the police transition team overseeing the training of all Iraqi police in western Baghdad says, “To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure we’re ever going to have police here that are free of the militia influence.” (more…)

Hamburg - Railway authorities in Germany are conducting tests of revolutionary biometric facial recognition software that enables computers to pick out the faces of suspected terrorists in a crowd.

The new software, being tested by Deutsche Bahn AG, will make it easier to distinguish terrorists from commuters, it is hoped.

‘We’re a couple of weeks into a pilot project that is testing technology designed to automatically detect terrorists or other criminals entering trains and alert security personnel,’ Jens Puls, director of corporate security at Deutsche Bahn, announced at the Systems IT trade show in Munich.

The project comes on the heels of foiled attempts to bomb two German regional trains in July, Puls pointed out. (more…)

PentagonMilitary, government indoctrination wing formally declares psychological warfare on the American people

The Pentagon has formally declared psychological warfare on the American people by announcing it will engage in propaganda and indoctrination by using the Internet and media to “set the record straight” on the war on terror. Recent history clearly indicates this is just the latest outreach of an insipid brainwashing agenda that is totally unlawful and anathema to the U.S. Constitution.

In the past, the military or the government did not announce that they were planting surreptitious propaganda to target U.S. audiences, they did it secretly and for a very good reason - because it was and still is illegal. (more…)

Is Karl Rove Using the “Resources of the Federal Government” to Buy Votes?

According to a June 5, 2006 story in Business Week, several Democrats asked the Treasury Department to investigate a possible Venezuelan connection to a 100-year-old American voting machine company called Sequoia Voting Systems, located in Oakland, California. At the time Sequoia felt the need to issue a press release rebutting what they called “misinformation” that was circulating about the fact that they had been purchased in May 2005 by a Venezuelan company called Smartmatic. The sale was reviewed and approved by all pertinent governmental agencies. Republicans at the time took little or no notice of the Democrats’ concerns.

Now, in a serendipitous bit of timing, with poll after poll showing that the GOP candidates are out of favor with the American electorate, yesterday [10-29-06] The New York Times decided to run a new version of the story, dredging up the old charges against Sequoia. (more…)
