The head of the British Army has said the presence of UK armed forces in Iraq “exacerbates the security problems”.

In an interview in the Daily Mail, Sir Richard Dannatt, Chief of the General Staff, is quoted as saying the British should “get out some time soon”. (more…)

A U.S. based environmental magazine that both former Vice President Al Gore and PBS newsman Bill Moyers, for his October 11th global warming edition of “Moyers on America” titled “Is God Green?” have deemed respectable enough to grant one-on-one interviews to promote their projects, is now advocating Nuremberg-style war crimes trials for skeptics of human caused catastrophic global warming.

Grist Magazine’s staff writer David Roberts called for the Nuremberg-style trials for the “bastards” who were members of what he termed the global warming “denial industry.” (more…)

Security and terrorism won’t be an issue if Chicago wins the right to host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games because, by that time, there’ll be a surveillance camera on every corner, Mayor Daley said Wednesday.

“By the time 2016 [rolls around], we’ll have more cameras than Washington, D.C. … Our technology is more advanced than any other city in the world — even compared to London — dealing with our cameras and the sophistication of cameras and retro-fitting all the cameras downtown in new buildings, doing the CTA cameras,” Daley said. David Blunkett, the UK’s former home secretary, has said that during the 2003 invasion of Iraq he suggested to Tony Blair that Britain’s military should bomb Aljazeera’s television transmitter in Baghdad.

Aljazeera television said on Thursday that Blunkett’s claims - made in an interview with Britain’s Channel 4 television to be aired on Monday - support its belief that the US and Britain deliberately bombed its Baghdad offices during the war. (more…)

Former chess champion Garry Kasparov, an outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said on Thursday he fears for his safety in the wake of the weekend murder of a critical Russian investigative journalist, AFP news agency reports. (more…)

Cartoon jabs at ‘retarded’ public, misrepresents numbers, cites Bush incompetence

The popular cartoon South Park launched a 9/11 hit piece, claiming that the “one-fourth” of Americans who believe the attacks were an inside job are “retards.” The episode equates the 9/11 truth movement with anti-semitism, a pointless and insignificant investigation into the misuse of a bathroom, numerology, and the selfish, racist, spoiled and more-or-less evil show character Cartman, who frequently attacks the character Kyle for transgressions he blames on Jews.

From Alex Jones: This episode is saying that Bush was not involved 9/11, that he is incompetent, that it is anti-semitic to say 9/11 is an inside job. This is the text book template being used by Popular Mechanics, Fox News, Scripps-Howard and all the others. They hit every single point spewed by the “debunkers.” In Team America, anyone questioning the war is a terrorist, when in truth Michael Moore does in Farenheit 9/11 exactly with Parker and Stone do with this episode: set out to make Bush look like a buffoon. A shot to the head from US forces has killed a British camera man, according to this report filed by the UK’s Channel 4. Lloyd was a victim of the pre-war strategy to kill any independent journalists that were not embedded within U.S. ranks. Now that’s liberation! (more…)

Chat with Mark Foley!

October 12th, 2006

This is not for kids, but is possibly the funniest thing I’ve seen in weeks.

Some Congressional members are “furious” at the FBI for its “blackout” of the investigation into the 2001 anthrax attacks which “left five people dead and dozens of others injured or facing lengthy courses of dangerous drug therapy,” according to Roll Call.

“The FBI has completely shut Congress out of its now five-year investigation into anthrax attacks on Capitol Hill and around the nation, with accusations flying up and down Pennsylvania Avenue about the probe into the worst biochemical attacks in U.S. history,” Paul Kane writes.

Considering the source of the anthrax, they have every right to upset. (more…)

Last night (10/11) on “Special Report”, host Brit Hume used the lead segment of his “Two Minutes of Hate” (AKA “Grapevine”) to claim “Democratic Operatives” were responsible for providing information on Mark Foley to the media, and accused the media of holding onto the information for months, but neglected to mention that Fox News was one of the outlets that received the e-mails back in 2005.

Hume whined, “The Washington Post acknowledged today that one of its sources for sexually charged computer messages from former Florida Congressman Mark Foley was a former page who supports the Democratic party. The Post writes that its source — and the former page who talked to ABC News — might not have come forward had democratic operatives not divulged less sordid e-mails upon which the original stories were based.”

GOP: “The Party of Ideas”…on how to deflect blame. Although it is difficult to tell with Brit “St. Bernard” Hume, he appears to really be feeling blue these days with the revolving door of corruption scandals plaguing the GOP. (more…)

NEW YORK — U.S. stocks fell to their lows for the session Wednesday after news reports that a small aircraft had crashed into a New York city building.

Stocks had already been under pressures after the minutes of the last Federal Reserve meeting on interest rates made clear that inflation remained a serious concern for central bank officials, dashing hopes among some investors for an early cut in interest rates. (more…)

The U.S. Army has plans that would keep the current level of troops in Iraq — about 15 brigades — through 2010, the top Army officer said Wednesday.

2010? Why so soon? I was hoping my unborn grandchildren would have an opportunity to fight in this war… (more…)

Wall StreetAdmits no funding, no bombs, no vehicles, but still saturates fairy tale story while ignoring biggest explosives find in British history

The British media is feverishly hyping the deranged notes of a screwball Muslim Londoner as evidence of a huge “terror plot admission” in which Wall Street and other prominent buildings were the target - despite the fact that the suspect had no means whatsoever to carry out the attack - meanwhile completely ignoring a report earlier this week where the largest haul of explosives and a rocket launcher were found at a white man’s house in Burnley. TruthersDanger remains high before election but Neo-Fascist’s zeal stunted by unforeseen events

Fears that another major staged terror attack was in the works during the summer of 2006 have been tempered somewhat by the burgeoning activism of the 9/11 truth and anti-war movements as well as political wild cards that were previously unforeseen by the Neo-Con elite - who are now on the defensive. House speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., tries to change the subject. But the accusations about Hastert subordinates who were apparently told about Congressman Mark Foley’s questionable behavior keep coming.

Hastert spoke to reporters Tuesday, insisting that he and the GOP House leadership had done nothing wrong in the House page scandal involving ex-Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla. The speaker heralded the economy: “We’ve lowered people’s taxes. They have more money in their pockets to spend,” he said.

Meanwhile, ABC News has learned that one former staffer who worked for the GOP leadership will tell the House Ethics Committee Thursday about an incident several years ago in which he was alerted that an apparently inebriated Foley had tried to gain access to the pages’ dormitory. (more…)
