JOLIET — Illinois State Police say that increased traffic patrols in Will, Grundy and Kendall counties will continue through midnight Sunday.

District Five Captin Ken Kaupas says surveillance will include roadside safety checks and aerial speed checks.

He says troopers are concentrating on drunk or aggressive drivers and those who don’t wear seat belts.

He says the district hopes for a repeat of last year’s Thanksgiving weekend when there were no fatal crashes.
