New Survey shows Iraqis want the Troops to leave
December 7th, 2006
The Iraq Center for Research & Strategic Studies conducted a new survey that was commissioned by the Iraq government. The surveyors wouldn’t allow themselves to be seen on camera which usually is not a good sign.
More than half of the 2000 participants said they want all the US troops out now, the remainder want the withdrawal to begin immediately. The economy is a big problem for most Iraqi’s as well which isn’t surprising—The Iraqis also feel that since the Democrats won big time in November they are hoping that they’ll be able to help change policy.

Rove Says U.S. Can’t Keep Illegals Out
December 7th, 2006
Last night at Hillsdale College’s annual Churchill Dinner in Washington, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove received a chilly reception for his answer to a question about illegal immigration.
During the question-and-answer portion, a member of the audience told Rove he frequently hears from Republicans who want to know what is being done about the open-borders problem. Rove gave an eight-minute response emphasizing President Bush’s call for a “comprehensive” solution to the illegal immigration problem.
While Rove recited some strong statistics emphasizing increased enforcement on the border, his overall answer suggested the U.S. had no way of keeping illegals out, and therefore, should instead invite them in as part of a guest-worker program. The response from the audience: dead silence. See for yourself.

Lynch and Brolin re-focus attention, will more Hollywood personalities follow in their footsteps?
Two more major influential Hollywood stars using their fame to attract attention to 9/11 truth proves the dam is breaking and November’s election result has failed to stop the momentum of a growing chorus across the political spectrum demanding answers on inexplicable facets of the 9/11 fraud.
Actor James Brolin used a spot on ABC’s popular chat show The View to plug a 9/11 website that goes into detail on how the towers and Building 7 were imploded by incendiary devices.
Iconic producer David Lynch appeared on Dutch TV news to react to a clip from the Loose Change documentary and sounded off on several different aspects of how the official story is impossible. (more…)

Melanie Morgan: Muslims Guilty Until Proven Innocent
December 7th, 2006
Hate-mongering Melanie Morgan, who looks as though she hasn’t laughed in at least a year, was back to spread some more of her shrill, mean spirit on Hannity & Colmes last night (12/5/06) in at least the third H&C discussion about the six imams thrown off a US Airways plane a few days before Thanksgiving. Rather than offer any kind of understanding or sympathy for the plight of the imams, who were never charged with any crime, Morgan accused them of insensitivity toward their fellow passengers by acting too publicly Muslim. She said, “Let us not exonerate these six Imams until all of the facts are in.”
Last I checked, Morgan is a talk show host with a checkered past who has no professional training or experience in security or aviation. Nevertheless, nobody questioned her authority when she announced “We need to use proven psychological, racial and ethnic profiling” on airplanes. She grandiosely offered, “I think that if I were a young Muslim male, who had no evil intentions in my heart, I would be grateful for any additional profiling that would take place because that would mean my family and myself would be flying safely.”
Alan Colmes asked wryly if that meant someone should be grateful for being taken off a plane, put in handcuffs and detained for hours, as the six imams were. (more…)
Senators rap FBI over domestic spying
December 7th, 2006
WASHINGTON — Senators frustrated by scant details on the Bush administration’s domestic eavesdropping program on Wednesday rapped FBI Director Robert Mueller for refusing to show how it has curbed terrorist activity in the United States.
Mueller said he was unable to talk about the warrantless spying program because it is classified.
“What assurances can you provide that the program is worthwhile?” asked Senate Judiciary Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa. “Have arrests been made? Have terror cells been broken?”
The FBI has briefed congressional intelligence committees on the controversial program, but Mueller said he did not have permission to share that information with other lawmakers — including the judiciary panels that oversee the bureau. (more…)
Mary Cheney and Partner Are About to Be Moms
December 7th, 2006
Mary Cheney, the vice president’s openly gay daughter, is pregnant. She and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe, are “ecstatic” about the baby, due in late spring, said a source close to the couple.
It’s a baby boom for grandparents Dick and Lynne Cheney: Their older daughter, Elizabeth, went on leave as deputy assistant secretary of state before having her fifth child in July. “The vice president and Mrs. Cheney are looking forward with eager anticipation to the arrival of their sixth grandchild,” spokesman Lea Anne McBride said last night.
Cheney, 37, was a key aide to her father during the 2004 reelection campaign and now is vice president for consumer advocacy at AOL. Poe, 45, a former park ranger, is renovating their Great Falls home.
News of the pregnancy will undoubtedly reignite the debate about gay marriage. During the campaign, Mary Cheney was criticized by gay activists for not being more publicly supportive of same-sex marriage. Her father said people “ought to be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to” but deferred to the president’s policy supporting a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages. ‘Students should face pre-exam security tests to stamp out fraud’
December 7th, 2006
Pupils taking exams should be forced to take biometric security tests to cut down on cheating, the exam watchdog said.
A Government-backed report is recommending tougher measures such as fingerprint or retina scanning to prevent students drafting in friends to take exams in their place.
Exam boards are forced to disqualify candidates every year for passing off others as themselves in GCSE and A-level exams.
The report, commissioned by Government exams watchdogs, also called for widespread trials of 007-style detectors to trap pupils using mobile phones to cheat in exam halls. (more…)
Mobile phone can spy on you even when off
December 7th, 2006
LAHORE: The FBI appears to have begun using a novel form of electronic surveillance in criminal investigations: remotely activating a mobile phone’s microphone and using it to eavesdrop on nearby conversations, says a report published by CNET News.com on December 1.
The technique is called a “roving bug,” and was approved by top US Department of Justice officials for use against members of a New York organised crime family who were wary of conventional surveillance techniques such as tailing a suspect or wiretapping him. The FBI is apparently using a novel surveillance technique on alleged Mafioso: activating his cell phone’s microphone and then just listening, the report says. (more…)
