April 29th, 2007 at 2:26 pmI’d like to point out that the interviewees, Mr. Sharon and Mr. Hayut, see themselves as Israeli patriots, not as enemies of Israel; and that their political activism is aimed at saving the Israeli society from calamity, not at demolishing it. They have said that they believe the evil stems from the policies enacted by the Israeli government, and that the Israeli society enables these policies partly because citizens are kept in the dark of the reality of the occupation.
Mr. Sharon’s and Mr. Hayut’s criticism is directed towards the Israeli government rather than towards the Zionist program. Mr. Sharon and Mr. Hayut probably see themselves as Zionist, as patriotic, rather than as anti-Zionist, anti-Israeli. Mr. Sharon and Mr. Hayut probably consider the Israeli government’s policy as being anti-Israeli, anti-Zionist.
